  • empty, the buggy is 760 kg. With one spare wheel but for the rest empty. 750kg is the mimimum weight for a 2 wheel drive rally raid car under 1.400cc without turbo compressor. It has 198 hp (standard Hayabusa) so it is fast. Race weight during the Dakar is close to 1.050 kg. 2nd spare wheel (23 kg), tools and spare parts (40kg), navigation stuff 10 kg and a maximum of 180 liters petrol (130kg) and the driver with his helmet, wear, 6 liters of water and so on. During the Dakar 2012 race we started each special with 140 liters of petrol or less. Sometimes we took only 60 liters of petrol to start the special.
  • the buggy is geared with a top speed of just under 170 kilometers per hour. During the Dakar speeds above 140-150 on the track which you don't know at all don't occur a lot, most of the time the speed is even much lower. More important then top speed is the ability to drive through the dunes and soft sand. Jurgen will participate in the Dakar 2013 race to show the speed of the buggy. We will modify his buggy for Dakar 2013 with a top speed of only 150 kmh as that is sufficient and brings even more power and torque at slow speed in the dunes. It is up to the driver to chose the gearing of the buggy.
